WHEN SHOULD A KICKSTARTER/ CROWDFUNDED PROJECT START THINKING ABOUT RETAIL PLACEMENT? 

It helps to start planning early, because your retail placement and fulfillment strategy can impact your initial order volume. You should model scenarios of how many units you expect to move each month after launch, after you've fulfilled rewards to your campaign supporters. Once your project reaches its funding goals, it can take a few weeks to get set up on Amazon. 

WHAT ARE THE MAIN RETAIL PLACEMENT OPTIONS / SALES CHANNELS?

Some of your target sales channels might include:

  • Traditional in-store retail (B2C) or wholesale (B2B)
  • Retail online through dropshippers
  • Retail online direct
  • Wholesale online to retailers or wholesalers

HOW DO I USE AMAZON’S FULFILMENT NETWORK TO FULFIL REWARDS ORDERS?

You can upload a spreadsheet of Rewards orders to Amazon, and they will fulfill each order directly to the customer. The fees for this are the standard pick & pack, weight handling, and variable closing fees for your product's category. This is a very convenient option to use when fulfilling Rewards orders, as well as any orders you receive through your own online store.
